We were somehow unaware of Bishop Rose's passing until now. If the UPCI and/or prayer network sent out an announcement we somehow missed it. Bishop J. Hugh Rose was like no one we've ever known, and we will surely never meet anyone like him. Never was the genuine love of God displayed with greater clarity than in the life and manners of this precious man. He will be missed.

When I was only a child 48 years ago I listened each week to Harvestime. The church where I lived was vry small and I was fed by it so much! Bro. Rose's voice was one of a kind. He will be missed.
Our thoughts are with his family and his church family!

He was one of the greatest singer in Pentecost....the last time I saw and heard Brother Rose sing was at Kings Highway Tab. in Terre Haute, Indiana.....many years ago....the sadness is for the ones left behind....but not for long.....I believe he is worshiping and singing with great joy of praise at the feet of Jesus.....so lift up your hearts and rejoice for the race he ran and won for Jesus.....Just a little while to stay here, just a little while to wait......he has returned, as the Book of Eccl. states, to the God from whence he came....a great rejoicing in heavan.....

Both Brother and Sister Rose had such an impact our lives through their dedicated service to God and people. I don't know that I have ever met a person who showed more interest in and kindness to people than Brother Rose. As a student in Calvary Christian School and throughout my teens they both set such an example of the perfect blend that created a 'class act' of excellence. Br. Rose instilled a deep respect for the Word of God...both the written word and the Bible itself. To this day I cannot lay anything on top of the Bible as I could imagine him taking his glasses out of his pocket, lifting them still folded and looking at me in a most serious way. On the other hand, to be the receptient of one of his resounding hearty laughs was sure to bring ripples of joy to my heart! It was infectious!!! We are saddened beyond words to know that he is gone and regret that we are already in Texas for the Conference and cannot be there for today's celebrations of his homegoing. Nila, we will be praying for you and the entire family...we love you!!! Arlie and Becki Enis

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Brother Rose. There is no one like him! He made such an impact on my life growing up at Calvary. I will miss his awesome voice and bright smile. I have so many fond memories of him and will always cherish them. We are so sorry that we could not be there. We are praying for the Lord to comfort you, Nila and your family at this time of sorrow.
Love,
Cindy and Rodney Clark

We are sadden by this great loss, it is a sad time for the family. God blessed Bro. Rose with wisdom and compassion that touched the hearts of thousands. We are a product of that wisdom and compassion and our hearts are in prayer for your comfort in this time of loss.
With love in Christ,

No one in the world like Bro. Rose! I was just a shy little girl growing up at Calvary Christian School & Calvary Tabernacle. He was my teacher, mentor, encourager, always upifting, nurturing & giving me the confidence that I needed to do anything for the Lord. Sis. Rose is to me the greatest musician I have ever heard & I used to sit on the front row & watch her as she played. They were the greatest husband & wife team ever! I will be forever grateful for their influence on my life & for all Bro. Rose invested in me! My deepest sympathy to Sis. Rose & the family.
